Honey Skin Spa, Home of the Best Facial I've Ever Had

I had the best facial of my life last week!

I'm not one to throw around grandiose claims. I keeps it real and I am for real about this. Where is this heavenly facial, you ask? Honey Skin Spa, of course!

When I walked into the courtyard that Honey calls home, I already knew it was going to be a calming experience (much needed after a long day at work.) This is the very same courtyard that Megan Sevcik, owner of Honey Skin Spa, met her future husband in what once was the beloved, legendary Rover's Restaurant. To come to Honey is to get to know Megan and her BFF Erin Date well, and their stories are the magic that bring Honey to life (and their loyal customers coming back for years.)

Megan encountered skin issues in her early twenties. When the problems got worse with what her dermatologists prescribed her, she decided to take matters into her own hands.

Megan turned her skincare struggle into her passion, falling in love with achieving beautiful skin and wanting to help others feel beautiful, youthful, and confident in their own skin. In 2010, she received the Healing Hands Award (for excellence in all areas of skincare) from the top esthetician school in the country, The Euro Institute of Skincare (which is in Renton!)

Her quest for perfect skin led her to discover Ayurvedic medicine principles. She founded Honey Skin Spa in 2011 on these principles, and together with her BFF and sole employee Erin Date (who's an amazing lash stylist), worked hard to establish Honey as a top destination for effective, customized skincare services.

Honey focuses on taking extra care with each guest, and his or her skin needs. Each receives a personal, one-on-one skin consultation on the date of their first facial appointment, to create a custom facial and skin plan for lasting results, well beyond beauty.

Each facial is then customized to your specific skin needs. All facials include a deep cleanse using papaya and pineapple enzymes, followed by a customized peel, a custom mask and a beautiful antioxidant filled french facial massage designed to tone/tighten and improve collagen and elastin in your skin. The Honey team always includes their regenerative Echo 2 pure liquid oxygen infusion at the end of every facial-it's their signature award-winning system.

I'm not usually one to get peels or opt for the oxygen facials, but I do love taking care of my skin. Getting a facial every other month has become a regular part of my skincare routine, and I'm so happy to find another place that cares not just about good skincare, but about the products they use too. Honey carries Hylunia organic skin care products - the only spa in Washington to sell them to the public.

Hylunia was the first to use plant-based Hyaluronic acid in all their products. Hyaluronic acid is known as the fountain of youth and helps to keep skin clear and super hydrated, and they are free of all known harmful toxins, and inflammatory ingredients including parabens, preservatives, and sulfates. They are healing for the skin and high in antioxidants, plant peptides and vitamins, which aid in preventing inflammation, which triggers aging and unhappy skin. Megan kindly gave me a few samples to take home after my facial, and I've loved them. There was a very noticeable difference in how hydrated and glowy my skin was when I left Honey, and I've able to maintain that dewiness by continuing to use Hylunia. I'm a fan for sure!

Happy camper, three days later!
