organicgirl #GetUrGreenOn Beauty Challenge (& Giveaway!)

Y'all already know I'm about that green superfood life, so when organicgirl asked me to take the #GetUrGreenOn beauty challenge, it was a no-brainer. For the last week, organicgirl greens and salad dressings have starred in two out of my three daily meals. I'm a big fan of the sweet pea greens in my daily breakfast smoothie, and the peppergreens with smoked salmon and pepita seeds. If you haven't experienced the taste of these greens or dressings yet, you are in for a very healthy treat!

A lady been getting too familiar with dairy and sugar lately if you know what I mean. After a week with an organicgirl greens-heavy diet, my skin has cleared up, tightened up and evened out considerably! I definitely noticed the change. organicgirl enlisted Katie Ferraro, registered dietician, nutrition consultant, author and nutrition professor to drop some knowledge on just how much eating healthy can benefit you:

  1. Staying hydrated helps promote the transport of nutrients to your cells and removal of toxins away from skin cells. Choosing high water content foods such as fruits and vegetables - including dark green leafy greens - can help you meet your water needs and promote optimal skin health.
  2. Including greens as part of a well-balanced diet can help fight inflammation. Free radicals cause damage in your body, but including antioxidant-rich foods like green leafy vegetables protects against oxidative damage caused by free radicals, keeping you beautiful inside and out!
  3. Green leafy vegetables contain vitamin K, an important fat soluble vitamin that helps your body transport and utilize fat. Fat is a good thing when it comes to physical appearance, as adequate fat intake promotes healthy hair, skin and nails.
