Seattle! Pendleton Store Grand Opening Celebrations This Weekend
Today, on the National Park Service's 100th birthday, Pendleton graced our city with a beautiful new store in the heart of downtown. Some of you might remember that there was already a Northwest Pendleton store in this spot on 4th Ave. The franchise owner of that store has retired, and Pendleton's revamped the space into a tightly curated collection of some of their best - and most popular - patterns and pieces.
The store has been open quietly for a couple of weeks but is celebrating its grand opening this weekend. You already know the 153-year-old brand's heritage and commitment to quality wool; this weekend you can learn more about its work with the American Indian College Fund and meet some of the wool makers themselves!
Tonight from 5:00 - 6:00p.m., learn about the American Indian College Fund and meet Preston Singletary, internationally celebrated glass artist and designer of the "Raven and the Box of Knowledge" American Indian College Fund blanket. You can also enjoy refreshments and watch "Canyon Song," a short film about two young Navajo girls learning and honoring traditions in the Canyon de Chelly. Pendleton will make an additional donation to the American Indian College Fund for all College Fund blankets sold 8/26 - 8/27!
On Saturday between 2:00 - 6:00p.m., meet Cameron Krebs, a member of the Umatilla County wool-growing family that's been working with Pendleton for almost 100 years (!). There'll be crafting projects, videos, refreshments, and drawings for sweet gifts!
Check out all the sweet swag they gave away tonight. Thanks Pendleton for having me!
